After July 2021, the 2.3.x release line no longer received quality updates or user guide updates. PHP 7.3 reached end of support in December 2021, and Adobe Commerce 2.3.x reached end of support in September 2022. We strongly recommend upgrading to Adobe Commerce 2.4.x to help maintain PCI compliance.

Guest Checkout

Your store can be configured to require shoppers to open an account before making a purchase. The default setting allows guests to make purchases, with an option to register for an account after they complete the checkout process.

Disable guest checkout

  1. On the Admin sidebar, go to Stores > Settings > Configuration.

  2. On the left panel, expand Sales and choose Checkout.

  3. Expand Expansion selector the Checkout Options section.

  4. If the setting is for a specific store view, choose the store view where the configuration applies.

    When prompted, click OK to continue.

  5. Set Allow Guest Checkout to No.

    If necessary, clear the Use system value checkbox to enable changes to this setting.

  6. Click Save Config.
