After July 2021, the 2.3.x release line no longer received quality updates or user guide updates. PHP 7.3 reached end of support in December 2021, and Adobe Commerce 2.3.x reached end of support in September 2022. We strongly recommend upgrading to Adobe Commerce 2.4.x to help maintain PCI compliance.

This site contains archived merchant documentation for a version of Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source that has reached end-of-support. The documentation available here is intended for historical reference only and is not maintained. The Adobe Commerce Merchant Documentation for current releases is published on the Adobe Experience League.

The Content section is used to enter and edit the main product description that appears on the product page. The short description can be used in most RSS feeds, and might also appear in catalog listings, depending on theme.

Add the product description in Page Builder

  1. Open the product in edit mode.

  2. Scroll down and expand the Content section.

  3. At the Description label, click Edit with Page Builder.

  4. Follow the Page Builder instructions to edit the existing text and add other content (if needed).

  5. Enter a Short Description of the product and format as needed.

Add the product description in the editor

Enter only plain ASCII characters into the text box. If pasting text from a word processor, save it first as a plain .TXT file to remove any invisible control characters.

  3. Enter the main product Description and use the toolbar to format as needed.

    You can drag the lower-right corner to change the height of the text box.

  4. Enter a Short Description of the product and format as needed.
